Barbara's work was dedicated to serving families long before she moved to North Carolina and became a family lawyer. Her early career spans teaching at-risk high school students, and working with both victims and perpetrators of domestic violence and probationers.

Barbara strives to establish strong, positive relationships with her clients as she helps them navigate the emotional upheavals of divorce, reduce the stress that divorce places on children, and achieve financial stability. Whether through negotiation or litigation, she is a tough and determined advocate working to protect her clients' the best interests. She is an adept negotiator, and serves as Guardian Ad Litem and Parenting Coordinator for the Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties.

Barbara graduated from the North Carolina Central School of Law with honors in 2005. She and Julie Woodmansee established their law firm in 2012. Barbara is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Durham County Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, and the 14th Judicial District Bar, and is recognized by Best Lawyers in America.

Barbara is an avid reader.  She hikes, practices yoga, and enjoys travel, photography, and her community's parks, museums, theaters, food, and people.  She loves dogs and actively participates in the rescue and fostering of stray and neglected animals from across the Triangle.
